Invoices and payments
Payment can be made to the Business via cash, cheque, an approved payment card, or by any other payment method that is accepted by the Business. as set out on our website.
An estimate will be given to the Client during the initial fitting. In the event that the cost of work required cannot be estimated at the initial fitting due to the work being novel or complex or having special requirements (i.e. Bridal alterations), an estimate will be provided within 7 days of the initial fitting. The Client must accept an estimate by email or on our estimate acceptance form before work can commence. The Client agrees to pay any invoice(s) for the work by the due date(s) specified. Unpaid or overdue invoices may result in suspension or termination of the Project. Alterations must be paid for in full upon accepting the estimate, unless greater than $100 in value, in which case a 50% deposit for standard alterations, and a 30% deposit for Bridal or Formal alterations, is required before the commencement of the work. If the scope of work changes for any reason including but not limited to a change of mind as to what the client seeks, changes in body measurements, pregnancy, surgery, change of shoes or undergarments, or additional alterations etc – then a new estimate will be produced for any extra work involved. In the case of an estimate, the Client acknowledges that while all reasonable effort will be made to complete the work at the estimated price, this is an estimate only and the final price of the work may change due to unanticipated complications or additional materials required to complete the work. The Client will be notified within .. hours/days if any variation in the final price is greater than 10% of the initial estimate. The Client may choose to cease the project but will lose the deposit, or continue with the changes to the work so that the work is satisfactory to the Client.

Fittings
The initial fitting is one of the most important stages of alterations. It is important that the Client attends this fitting with a clear statement of their needs, and all relevant items. This is especially important for Bridal and Formal alterations. It is highly recommended the shoes and undergarments that will be worn with the garment be brought to all fittings, especially for hemming purposes. The Client agrees that alterations will be based on the shoes and undergarments worn to fittings, and that any change of shoes or undergarments and any fluctuations in body measurements (including due to pregnancy, surgery etc) that will affect the fit of the garment may incur extra charges for additional alterations.
Customers with pre-booked appointments will be given priority over customers who walk in and call in without an appointment. We do not accept responsibility for garments that are not pinned by our staff. We cannot guarantee the quality of finished products if you decide not to rely on our professional advice and request to use measurements or finishing that are not performed or recommended by us. Further cost may be incurred for extra work required due changes in measurements, and adding extra services after your fitting session and after you have picked up the garment(s). For hygiene reasons, we do not accept unclean garments.
Termination of contract
The Contract ends when the garment is picked up unless one of the parties ends the contract before that time. If one of the parties chooses to end the Contract prior to Project completion, the Client is responsible for paying for all work and costs incurred up until that date.
If the Client chooses to cancel their alterations prior to working having been started, they will be liable to pay a fitting fee, which will be deducted from their deposit or payment, or invoiced as required. This fitting fee is $70 for Wedding Dress Alterations, and $30 for all other alterations such as Standard alterations, Formal alterations, Bridesmaid dresses etc.
Warranty and refunds
No refunds will be provided for the work completed or services performed under this contract other than in accordance with consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law and as otherwise required or permitted by law.
Alterations are completed to the best of our abilities. The Business is not liable for any damage incurred due to the quality of the construction or materials of the product, only for the work performed by the Business. The Business cannot be held liable for any damage the garment may sustain once it has left the studio. This includes but is not limited to Wedding Gown bustles being broken due to the dress being stood on, not cared for, or being incorrectly lifted prior to sitting.
If you would like any care tips regarding the alterations on your garments, we would be happy to discuss this during your fitting/pick up.
