Custom Garments:
Why does custom made cost more than retail clothing?
The process of making custom garments is more labour intensive than constructing retail clothing in a factory. Not only is the pattern specifically created for your measurements, but each garment is made one at a time to ensure high quality finishes and custom details. Also, as all of our staff are employed in Australia, we pay them Australian wages that reflect the quality of their work.
Can I bring my own fabric for custom garments?
Yes! You’re more than welcome to source your own fabric. We’ll advise you on whether it’ll work for the type of garment you have in mind, or if you have a design consultation before purchasing fabric then we’ll advise you on what fabric to look for.
Do you supply fabric for custom garments?
We have a range of high quality fabrics available through our Australian wholesale suppliers, as well as fabrics we have on hand for you to choose from for your custom garments.
What happens to the offcuts from custom garments or clothing alterations?
We don’t throw away fabric scraps, in fact if they can be used for small jobs or repair jobs we keep them aside. If they can’t be used for that, we actually donate fabric scraps to local schools and daycares for craft projects.
What types of fabrics do you use for custom garments
We use natural, environmentally friendly and ethically made fabrics that have as little negative impact on our environment as possible. The main fabrics we use are linen, tencel, cupro, silk, wool, organic cotton, and some bamboo fabrics.
Can you make any custom garment design?
Yes, we are able to create completely custom patterns, however this process is very labour intensive and takes a long time as the pattern needs to be designed, fitted, redesigned, fitted, etc, before the final piece is completed. Therefore, we have a selection of pre-made patterns created by many independent pattern businesses that we can use to create your custom garment.
Refund Policy
Due to the nature of our work, we cannot offer refunds. However, in the event that a mistake is made, we will not charge for this and do our best to rectify it. In the rare circumstance that we completely ruin a garment, we will pay for the replacement of that garment.
